Mixed Media

The new Monthly Scrapbookers’ Club theme for March is:
Mixed Media
So what is Mixed Media? By definition it is when ‘art’ is created when two or more artistic media are integrated.
For example you might start your base with ‘patterned paper’, add a wash of ‘Distress Stain’, stamp an ‘Inked Image’ and finish off with a dusting of ‘Perfect Pearls’.
So girls get out your art mediums and have some fun!

Today, Scrapbooking often goes beyond just blending paper with photos, often featuring three dimensional elements with multiple design layers, each layer created from a different medium.
When paints, crayons, waxes are added, the scrapbook pages become a multi-layered, mixed media design piece.
Working with media offers the scrapbookers a variety of artistic opportunities as almost anything is possible in the process of creativity. With mixed media, pretty much anything goes. Popular materials for mixed media art include, but are certainly not limited to, paint, mists, paper, hardware, wood, shells, fabrics, wax and ‘found objects’, often referred to as ‘findings’.
Here is a link to Finnabair's Gallery, her work is very inspirational, have some fun and create something amazing!
For those of you playing at home, here is ink to the ‘super-fast’ Mixed Media Layout I created on Friday.
